Mark loves being a DIY home renovater ALMOST as much as he loves being an uncle.
Uncle Mark was in his full glory when nephews, Lucas and Joey, came in for a quick visit with Mark’s sister, Trish.
Leading up to the reunion, Mark went to our local Busy Beaver (his fave spot) and picked out some safety glasses for the kids.
He also grabbed a 2×4 and put the boys through a “home renovation” exercise that Mark definitely enjoyed waaaay more than they did. 🙂
Lucas and Joey measured the wood and used the chop saw to cut it.
Then we had them sign their names to the boards.
Finally, they nailed their pieces to an open wall in our kitchen.
When Mark puts drywall over this section, the boys’ wood pieces will forever be part of the house.
And in 100 years, when someone else comes in and guts the place…they’ll see who was here before!
The boys were all smiles while helping Mark, but all they really wanted to do was play baseball.
Uncle Mark is pretty good at that too. 🙂

What a great Uncle he is to do that with them. The older they get the more special that will be to them. My Uncles were a HUGE part of who I am today. I ahem sure they love Aunt Courtney too 😉
