Hello, friends! I’ve been meaning to write this blog for awhile because so many people ask us what kind of trees, bushes and grasses we planted at our new house!

Backyard design with trees and shrubs

In addition to being a home renovation connoisseur, Mark is a landscape architect. He has such an eye for designing beautiful outdoor spaces! What he created at our new house is incredible, and I’m excited to share it with you! 🙂

First, we planted trees called “Hornbeams” on the one side of our property. In the photo below, they are the three tall trees you see. Not only are they beautiful, but they provide a natural privacy fence.

The hedges we planted next to our parking pad are called “Hicks Yew.” They grew so big and beautiful in just over a year. You can see in the photo below that they also double as a natural privacy fence for our space.

In the very back of our property, we planted a London Planetree when Henry was born. We call it “Henry’s tree” and, in the 3 years we’ve had it, it’s grown into quite the stunner!

What’s new for us this summer (and kind of exciting) is that several of my Instagram followers are reaching out to have Mark help them with their outdoor spaces! They’re looking for advice on how it should look and what to plant.

It’s fun for us to start doing this! If you’d like to connect with Mark, leave me a comment here or send an email to courtbrennan@gmail.com!
