We Survived The 1st Year!

Our sweet baby Henry is now 1. I can’t believe it…it was the fastest year of my life! I’m not the greatest mom in the history of the world, but I’ve learned a few gems that I now live by and want to share. Henry has eaten his fair share of dirt, leaves, rocks and yucky stuff at the playground…and he is fine! We don’t let him make a meal of it, but it’s impossible…

On The Move!

Henry is on the move and things are cooking over in our little neck of the world. We’ve made some great progress with our house renovation but I’m saving those details for a later date! 🙂 Our Mini Man turned 11 months old last week and we are planning his 1st birthday party. I cannot believe it’s been a year since I had him…that was the FASTEST year of my life!!! Henry’s favorite thing to…

Hurricane Hank!

I think we can all agree that Hank the Tank could have probably weathered Hurricane Irma as it hit Longboat Key where we were vacationing! My baby boy is a tough little man who seems to laugh and giggle through everything, and I’m sure that would have been the case with Irma! Our first family vacation to Longboat got cut short by 3 days…but we still had an awesome time! Henry loved the beach, the…

Of Course, Henry Took His First Steps In A Bar!

Since our sweet boy is a purveyor of all the fine establishments in Lawrenceville, it’s only fitting that he took his first steps at Franktuary! Franktuary serves gourmet hot dogs (Mark’s favorite!) and poutines (Mark’s other favorite!) and so it was the absolute perfect place for Henry to take his first 5 steps. The bartender, waitresses and other patrons cheered for him and then he gave everyone a Hi-5 because he just learned how to…

Looks like Mom…Wants to be Dad!

Henry might have blond hair and blue eyes like his Momma, but I think he’s going to be like his Dad. He loves to watch Mark work on the house and always wants to touch his tools! Mark put in a new downspout the other day and Henry just stared at him the whole time. Good thing our little Tank likes to help because we’re going to need it! In the next few weeks, we’re…

How A Baby Makes Marriage Hard And When We Had Our Breakthrough

Our baby rocks. Henry is the happiest and sweetest little boy, and we love him to the moon and back! But having a baby is hard…much harder than we thought. So hard that we asked each other, “Should we have even had a baby?!” When we first brought Henry home from the hospital, we were running on adrenaline and bliss. Those first couple weeks are a blur and we were just so happy to have…

Mark is Chip and Joanna Rolled Into One

We are big Fixer Upper fans just like the rest of America! And people always ask us if Mark is like Chip and if I’m like Joanna. The answer is no. Mark is Chip AND Jo, and I’m basically just his funny sidekick who follows him around and writes this blog! Hate to be that annoying wife who gushes about her husband, but Mark really is the brains behind all our designs and the brawn…

A "Spiritual Medium" Used To Live In Our House

We thought our old Victorian might have been a funeral home at one time because of the large front rooms, super high ceilings and wide interior hallway. But it’s better than that…a spiritual medium named Mrs. Heiny used to live in our house and did readings for people from 1903 to 1905. How cool is that?! I am obsessed with a show on E! called “Tyler Henry Hollywood Medium” and I think it is so…

Cigarettes, Sidewalks & Exclamations!

At dinner the other night, we swear Henry said his first word. And we’re pretty sure it sounded like “Nicorette.” HA! No idea why he even has smoking words in his vocabulary. Over the weekend, Mark and I went to an adults only dinner party and left Henry at home for the 2nd time in 7 months. Win! Our new sidewalk was installed with spaces for our shade trees that we’ll plant to line the…

Vacation and poop…like LOTS of poop.

We’ve been away from the blog for a hot minute because we’ve been living life…and taking care of a 7-month-old who is a VERY busy boy! A few weeks ago, we took Henry to Toronto to see his cousins… He loved every minute of the trip including when he blew out his diaper in the car and had poop all over him and the car seat. Mark and I laughed and laughed as we cleaned…
