Onward We Go!
After 12 awesome weeks with my sweet, sweet boy…Momma is heading back to work! I’m excited to go back…although I’m sure I will shed a few tears. I do take great, GREAT comfort in the fact that Henry will be spending his days with my mom…his Nana. Henry loves his Nana…he loves to coo and smile at her…and his favorite cousin Lily also loves him to bits. Hank, Lily and Nana will have more fun…
Baby About Town!
Before Henry was born, Mark and I said we were going to try and live our lives as normally as possible and just bring Hank the Tank along for the ride! Just look at him…doesn’t he look like he’s up for anything?! Because God sent us such a good baby…we take Hank everywhere we go. He goes to the job site to see Daddy and all the renovations he’s doing on the new house. We…
Does Anybody Need A Tub?
For those of you following along (we love you!)…you are well aware that Mark and I tore down the entire front brick wall of our Victorian home. While we were at it we thought…what the hell…let’s tear down the back too! 🙂 Tony G and his crew demoed this white structure which was a tiny kitchen on the very back end of the house. The upper level of the brick addition on the home came…
An ode to the stay at home mom!
Holy crap. OMG. You’re kidding me?! That’s what I say when I meet Mommas who stay at home full time…most of them with more than one kid. During my maternity leave, I’ve met so many moms who are raising their kids…without family nearby…many of whom suffered with postpartum depression…and they are STILL kicking it and rocking it and are just SO. DAMN. IMPRESSIVE. After I tell them they’re amazing…I then say to them, “You are…
A Cover Preview!
We got our favorite West Elm catalog in the mail and I about FELL OVER! “That’s our house!!” I screamed to Mark. I mean…it’s what our house will eventually be! You can’t tell from the outside right now, but this home we’re renovating is a beautiful Victorian that screams old school grandeur. Mark and I have more of a modern, casual style. So…as soon as I saw this catalogue picture…I knew instantly that’s how we’ll…
The Fresh Prince of Lawrenceville!
First and foremost, it is WAY EASIER to renovate a house than get a newborn to sleep. Trust me. Every night Mark and I try to rock Henry to sleep…as quickly and painlessly as possible. A few nights ago, Mark was holding Hank and swinging him around and started to sing… My husband apparently doesn’t know any lullabies and so he sang the theme song to the The Fresh Prince of Bel Air. HENRY LOVED…
We had to put Baby Hank to work…
Totally kidding, but we thought about it…for just a millisecond. Doesn’t he look ready to join the construction crew as he stretches out on this bearskin rug?! Hahahaha! Mark had no time to sleep on a bearskin rug as he spent this weekend and last weekend cleaning bricks. Like 1,500 of them. No joke. 1,500 bricks. You saw in the last blog post that we had to tear down the front brick wall on our…
We Just Had A Baby…So Let's Renovate Another House!
Yes…most people think we’re nuts, but life’s too short to slow down and not go for your dreams. And this house is part of our dreams! We took Baby Hank to see the work we’ve done so far. We told him that it doesn’t look like much now…but Daddy’s vision for this old Victorian house is spectacular! Our first order of business was to fix the brick work on the front facade. The brick had…
Parenting 101
Mark and I have been dad and mom for almost 3 weeks. Here is what I would tell people about being a first time parent… The majority of my day is spent hoping Henry poops, examining his poop and then discussing his poop with Mark. As a breastfeeding mom, I am a 24 hour Dairy Queen and I don’t care about wearing nice shirts…I also walked into Starbucks with a huge wet spot after feeding…
When Lily Met Hank
My niece, Lily, is a spunky little sass muffin. Mark and I absolutely adore her, and we could not wait to introduce her to baby Henry! At first, Lily was more impressed with the “It’s a boy!” balloons, but after about 20 minutes she warmed to the little man she called “bay-beeee!” Lily then preceded to tap Henry on the head and point out all his features…”eyes!” “ears!” “nose!” And then she gave him a…
