I've lost my patience

It’s gone. I’ve reached my limit. I tried to be a really good and understanding wife, but I can no longer live in a construction zone. Mark knows that we’re coming up on our 1 year anniversary of owning this house, and it’s time to finish it so that we can actually have people over. He started working on our basement door hatch. You’ll remember we moved the original staircase and that’s why we have…

You know your husband loves you…

When he delays his basement floor hatch project to come to your Saturday morning spin class. Mark is a road rider. He’s never taken an indoor cycling class. We rocked out during our 60 minutes on the bike with jumps, push-ups, hills and sprints. Mama-to-be Kelly Belly killed it while Mark struggled to finish. Not gonna lie…I was surprised that my hubby can lift a hundred pounds of drywall but barely get through my spin…

They're like an ugly baby

Our downstairs floors, I mean. Like an ugly baby in the sense that they’re mine and I LOVE THEM. The original pine floors on the first floor are really freaking old. Some parts were painted…don’t ask me why. Other parts have this weird black stain on them that even the floor guy can’t explain. One of the floor guys we talked to said that pine doesn’t stain well. It gets gooey and doesn’t spread nice…

The devil is ice skating.

It’s as cold in hell as it is in Pittsburgh because the unimaginable just happened. My mother got a cellphone. Her very first one. I immediately received her first selfie (with her favorite people). This occasion deserves a PARADE…I’m currently scouting locations. 🙂 On the home front, Mark and I are painting this weekend and hope to refinish the downstairs floors in about 2 weeks. We are very excited. I also taught my first spin…

We're in the groove

Mark and I are back in the groove. He’s reassumed the lead renovator role and I am happy to capitulate. He’s way better at priming the walls and ceiling…and I’m wayyyy better at making dinner reservations. Like last night’s soirée at Verde with my favorite mama-to-be. Kelly has officially become a tabletop and holds my drink just perfectly! 🙂 **FOLLOW ILOVE2SWEAT! Just click the “+ Follow” button at the top of the page & put…

Back on Pittsburgh time!

Hubby Mark has officially kinda gotten over the jet lag. Coffee helps…especially when you get to drink it in your super cool Dubai coffee mug. You KNOW my Canadian husband found a Tim Hortons while he was in the United Arab Emirates. Mark has an inner compass that always directs him to the nearest Tim’s. It’s nice having my partner back! This weekend, Mark and I are going to prime the downstairs walls. One of…

Mark was in a Geico commercial

Well, not really…but as soon as I saw this picture all I could think about was HUMP DAY! Woot woot!! Mark said you could go on a “camel ride” on the beaches of Dubai. After he saw the camels, he showed his colleagues the Geico commercial that ran in the States…too funny! My husband really had the trip of a lifetime. Granted, he worked like 14 hour days, but he did have a moment or…

He's BACK!!!!!!!!

I missed this face. After spending the last 5 weeks doing some VERY COOL work in Dubai, my husband is back in the states and back in my arms! 🙂 Mark was still in the loop on all the house stuff. We Skyped with my favorite drywaller so that Mark could see what he was doing. Drywaller Mark also gave Hubby Mark some tips for next time. Since Dubai is 9 hours ahead of us,…

Spinning right along

My spinning instructor training is going really well. I’m sure many of you don’t care, and you can stop reading HERE. My training sessions happen in the early mornings. That means I drink as much coffee as I can in my car. Right now, I’m training with two studios…one in Shadyside and one in Mt. Lebanon. (They share my love of sweat) Tired and sore don’t even begin to explain how I’m feeling, but the…

I've got friends in low places…

Garth. Brooks. Rocks. His concert last night at the Consol Center was amazing! Me and my hot date, Aunt Trudy, rocked out with my $10 Bud Light. My brother-in-law, Kevin, LOVES Garth and we got him (and the rest of us) tickets as a Christmas present. Check out the best t-shirt of the night… It was Garth’s birthday & Big Ben and the Steelers surprised him onstage! [wpvideo RROez5ck] And then we made the jumbo-tron…Night…
