What I Eat In A Day!

So many of you love to follow our home renovations (thank you!) and I equally get as much interest (usually from the ladies) about what I eat to stay healthy. I’ve shared many times how I was a tomboy growing up and loved all sports! Off to college I went, put on a bunch of weight and then had to find what worked for me in terms of eating well, moving my body and feeling…

Our Guest Bath

Right now, we have one fully functional and tricked out bathroom in our house! It’s our guest bath, and it’s on the third floor. It’s big and spacious, and we knew we could live in the house comfortably and use it while taking our time renovating the master bath. We wanted to go for modern and funky in this room so we picked an oval sink, a double globe sconce in black and brass and…

Kids, COVID and Is It Okay To Go To The Pool?

Oh friends, COVID really threw a wrench in our summer plans! I know we’re all doing our best but RAISE YOUR HAND IF YOU AND YOUR KID ARE GOING STIR CRAZY!! 🙂 We cancelled our travel plans but started having some of Henry’s little friends over to play outside at our water table. We’re also regulars at our neighborhood spray park. Even though we’re outside, I started wondering…is it even okay to do this? Should Henry…

Save versus Splurge – Master Bedroom Edition!

I’m so excited to share the details of our master bedroom renovation because I ABSOLUTELY LOVE how it turned out! If you follow me on Instagram, you know my love of BUDGETING and how Mark and I do a save/splurge analysis of each home renovation task before we start. I hope you get inspired from our master bedroom overhaul! The accent wall (it’s called a board and batten design) is the feature piece. Mark built…

Plants, plants, PLANTS!

Hello, friends! I’ve been meaning to write this blog for awhile because so many people ask us what kind of trees, bushes and grasses we planted at our new house! In addition to being a home renovation connoisseur, Mark is a landscape architect. He has such an eye for designing beautiful outdoor spaces! What he created at our new house is incredible, and I’m excited to share it with you! 🙂 First, we planted trees…

What to listen to during #quarantine!

Today in our #quarantineroutine series, my favorite radio chick @KELONAIR is spilling the beans about doing her radio show at home with a toddler. (I can call her a chick because she’s my friend and a bad ass lady. 😊) Kelly and I are soul sisters in this social distancing world because we both need to get into full-on, HD, “gonna be in a movie” makeup every morning to actually have a productive day. I…

Your Mental Health and COVID-19

FRIENDS! I’M WRITING IN ALL CAPS BECAUSE YOU ARE GOING TO LOVE THIS BLOG! A few days ago, I talked with Dr. Matt Iwaniec, a psychologist at AHN, who specializes in cognitive behavioral therapy. I’ve listened to some podcasts about CBT and was super interested in learning some tangible strategies to help deal with negative thinking and anxiety. Dr. Matt was super awesome and shared his techniques to help improve your mood, lessen your anxiety…

The Countdown Is On!

Welp, we’re moving in 2 weeks. Maybe 3. Hopefully 2. Yes, there’s a pandemic going on, but we have renters coming into our lovely rowhouse and so we GOTTA GET OUT! 🙂 I’m actually incredibly excited! Like, over the moon, can’t wait for it to happen EXCITED! The big house we’re moving to (that’s what Henry calls it) is like half finished. The major stuff is done but the trim, the doors, all the finishes…

Staying-At-Home Truths!

Now that we’re on Day 7,856 of this #quarantine, there are a few simple truths that I follow to stay sane, upbeat and somewhat put together! I put on makeup and fix my hair every morning. I don’t know the psychology behind it, I just know that it makes me feel better and helps me tackle the day. Making the beds and cleaning the kitchen. When the house feels tidy, I feel more in control….

A Look At Our Home While We’re All At Home!

Hello fellow #quarantiners! We got almost everything we needed from Home Depot and Lowe’s before the stay-in-place order was issued for Pittsburgh. We’ll be spending the next 2 weeks putting the finishing touches on some of the rooms in our renovation! You saw on Instagram and Facebook that Mark painted the accent wall in our master bedroom. We went with Knight’s Armour from PPG Paints. It’s their Diamond line collection. Mark did 2 coats. It…
