Everything we’re watching, reading and listening to while riding out #Coronavirus at home!

Hi friends! Sharing some of our FAVORITE THINGS while we’re all at home riding out this crazy/scary/WTF pandemic. Hope you all are healthy and happy…here’s how we’re passing the time. In addition to playing with my lipstick and making himself a “tiger” we are currently watching the documentary series WONDERSTRUCK on BBC America. It’s kind of like their Planet Earth series. The beauty they capture around the world is just mind blowing! Henry loves it…

Let’s talk HEALTHY EATING!

In my last post, I talked about the new workout routine my sister, Kelly, and I are on. Today, we’re going to talk about healthy eating with AHN dietitian, Kelsey Hutter! Kelsey is an amazing woman who suffers from auto-immune disorders. In her early 20s, she realized how much “what she ate” impacted her symptoms and how she felt, and that’s why she became a registered dietitian. Kelsey answered the most popular questions my followers…

#StrongAsAMother

I know all of you saw my Instagram and Facebook posts about the new fitness journey my sister and I are going on together! We were initially excited just to do this for ourselves, but then we saw the outpouring of messages and comments we got from all of you saying how motivating and inspiring it is and now it feels bigger than us! Our trainer’s name is JB and we work with him 2…

Our Green Wall…Love It or Hate It?!

Let me start by saying that I love all of you who read this blog. I also love the thousands of you who follow us on social media and vote/weigh in when I ask! That said, sometimes I disagree with your answers. HA! Mark and I wanted to build a green living wall ever since we bought our second house. We think it’s a bold design decision that adds a lot of cache to the…

I’m A Sucker For A Tin Ceiling

Mark and I LOVE the character of old homes and knew we wanted to feature a tin ceiling in our home renovation! Mark built a recessed ceiling (it’s also called a tray ceiling) above our kitchen island for the tin tiles. We think this is a great way to add personality to the kitchen that’s on budget and also still classic! We chose silver tin tiles, and there will be 3 pendant lights hanging down…

We Designed Our Kitchen! (And then changed it.)

Okay friends, we’re in the home stretch. Not really but saying it makes me feel better! We partnered with Cabinets To Go for our kitchen and really enjoyed the design process with our guy, Alex. He’s at the Murrysville store if you want to see him. We went with white shaker cabinets. I love a white kitchen and think it’s timeless! We’re going to add personality through the details like a tin ceiling, green pendant…

Resolution Hater, Intention Lover

Hear me out on the New Year’s resolutions…I love them and hate them and think they’re important and also silly. I know, I know…I’m full of contradictions. I think it’s super important to set an INTENTION for the year and then 2 or 3 action items that you can ACTUALLY DO to realize the goal you have for yourself. All the books I read say that the intention behind your action is the main driver…

Skincare Routine Part One

I’m a high low kinda girl. That goes for clothes, home decor and beauty products. I don’t think you should spend all your money on expensive products. I think one or two expensive beauty products mixed in with some drugstore favorites do the trick. Here’s what I’ve learned about my skin and looking youthful. 1. YOU MUST WEAR SUNSCREEN ALL THE TIME. Like as soon as you wake up, put it on. I use Neutrogena’s…

Winter Wonderland!

I wanted to wait until my new website was up to share our trip up to Seven Springs! This is the second time we’ve partnered with GoLaurelHighlands, and we love going to the mountains because it’s only an hour from our house and there is SO MUCH to do! We started in Ligonier and had dinner at Carol and Dave’s Roadhouse. Is there anything better than a home cooked meal with a Moscow mule?! NO!Ligonier’s Light…

How I Stay Healthy During The Holidays!

Here’s my philosophy about the holidays when it comes to food/parties/weight gain…you don’t want to indulge so much and get so off track that you start the new year not feeling your best. For me, being mindful of what I’m eating, how much and getting in some exercise keeps me feeling good, keeps my weight in check and then I kick off 2020 in the best possible place! I’M NOT A DOCTOR, but here are…
