When it’s GOOD ENOUGH!

Trying to be perfect is exhausting and, honestly, if you achieved perfection…you would be annoying and not someone I’d want to hang out with. HA! My current motto is “That’s GOOD ENOUGH!” What I mean by that is some days I’m feeling great. I’m well rested, Henry is a happy little peanut and I’m able to take him to the library, playground, water park and do the laundry with ease. But other days…and there are…

Grateful for YOU

We are still moving along with our home renovation…new French doors just put in FOR THE WIN!! But I was thinking the other day about how there is SO MUCH MORE going on in my life than just the renovation and how I’m longing to SHARE IT! The stuff that’s going on is more of the spiritual realm stuff. Books I’m reading and podcasts I’m listening to that are helping me TAP IN TO WHO…

Body After Baby!

I get lots of questions about my fitness routine during and after my pregnancy…especially how I got back into shape after I had Henry. I’m totally fine with those questions, I even welcome them, because I can be pretty vain and I was VERY CONCERNED about gaining weight during pregnancy. There are women stronger and more evolved than I, but I’m one of those women who struggles with body image and places a good chunk…

One of THOSE Moms

I joke with my friends that I’m gonna be one of those National Geographic moms who breastfeeds their kid forever. Henry is almost 14 months and still nursing exclusively. (He also eats like a grown man and would’ve eaten his entire birthday cake if we let him!) There was a moment when I thought I should wean him because I didn’t want other people to think I was weird. Can I just tell you…I’M SO…

New Year, Better Us

I’m not big on New Year’s resolutions but I am going to try something this year. For 2018, we’re going to set an “intention” for our family. And this intention is going to be a guide post for how we live our life this year. I’ve been feeling an energy in my soul over the last few months and it’s saying “have no fear.” Do not let fear rule your life, make your decisions, influence…

We Survived The 1st Year!

Our sweet baby Henry is now 1. I can’t believe it…it was the fastest year of my life! I’m not the greatest mom in the history of the world, but I’ve learned a few gems that I now live by and want to share. Henry has eaten his fair share of dirt, leaves, rocks and yucky stuff at the playground…and he is fine! We don’t let him make a meal of it, but it’s impossible…

On The Move!

Henry is on the move and things are cooking over in our little neck of the world. We’ve made some great progress with our house renovation but I’m saving those details for a later date! 🙂 Our Mini Man turned 11 months old last week and we are planning his 1st birthday party. I cannot believe it’s been a year since I had him…that was the FASTEST year of my life!!! Henry’s favorite thing to…

Hurricane Hank!

I think we can all agree that Hank the Tank could have probably weathered Hurricane Irma as it hit Longboat Key where we were vacationing! My baby boy is a tough little man who seems to laugh and giggle through everything, and I’m sure that would have been the case with Irma! Our first family vacation to Longboat got cut short by 3 days…but we still had an awesome time! Henry loved the beach, the…

Of Course, Henry Took His First Steps In A Bar!

Since our sweet boy is a purveyor of all the fine establishments in Lawrenceville, it’s only fitting that he took his first steps at Franktuary! Franktuary serves gourmet hot dogs (Mark’s favorite!) and poutines (Mark’s other favorite!) and so it was the absolute perfect place for Henry to take his first 5 steps. The bartender, waitresses and other patrons cheered for him and then he gave everyone a Hi-5 because he just learned how to…

How A Baby Makes Marriage Hard And When We Had Our Breakthrough

Our baby rocks. Henry is the happiest and sweetest little boy, and we love him to the moon and back! But having a baby is hard…much harder than we thought. So hard that we asked each other, “Should we have even had a baby?!” When we first brought Henry home from the hospital, we were running on adrenaline and bliss. Those first couple weeks are a blur and we were just so happy to have…
